this time i tried my best to edit as little as possible. so i only cropped, adjusted the contrast and added the shadows in the corners.

i came across a bridge with a group of teenagers hanging around there, jumping off the bridge into the river. they were friendly enough to jump off again and again so i could get a nice shot of them :)

since it's raya and i just got back from my home town, i feel like blogging in malay. or at least try to. rojak jela k.







too bad i missed the korban. wouldve loved to take pictures of the ritual.

biasanya lepas kita dapat daging korban, kita salaikan dia biar dia dapat tahan lama. see those two white things? they're cow balls. my dad actually made me try them. id eat cow brains, but balls? yuck. tapi daging salai sedap gila buat gulai. haih.

it's wasnt totally awesome or anything but you have to give them credit i think the whole thing went quite well. hosting a prom isnt that easy. so you cant expect it to be perfect. i honestly enjoyed the dance performances and stuff.

for a moment there i felt... young. haha nah man i felt old. crap.

well at least i got to try a D200. hehe thx zil.

it's wonderful to share the same exhibition with so man talented young artists. i was afraid that id feel lost cause i am new but they were all really supportive, friendly and helpful. made me fell like i actually fit it in. noone cared how much experience or the equipment everyone else had.
you have no idea how much this means to me.

i havent got the chance to to take pictures of everything so ill post them once i do k

from reading about it in kaki seni to planning with tikky n sal, to checking the site for info to being a part of the festival. it's only 3 days away but i thought if i dont start now, i might have to wait for my next holiday. thats if there's an opportunity like this. so i called them up and booked a spot.

i even invited fazil, zainul and sara. we will also share the exhibition with a few amazing local photographers like sue anna joe and razak latif

ive always enjoyed these things. especially when im with people who know how to appreciate art. experienced or not. they've always inspired and motivated me to try (not copy) new things and find my own identity. linda has definitely found her own.

from painting, to sewing, to stencil, line drawings, hatching, sticking wrapping papers and even paper polystyrene planes, to photography, to photos that are edited in illustrator and printed on sticky paper, to black and white photocopy with torn edges, to a little bit of vector, those metallic fabric paints we used in school, pencil drawings, i think there was marker, u name it. i dont even think i mentioned all. mixed media indeed.
that said, she still managed to maintain her works' characteristics.

the opening was tonight but you can visit anytime around 7th of dec til 7th january at 118, at Kebun Mimpi, jalan cenderai 1, bangsar. it's opposite bangsar one so it's pretty easy to find. pls if u have time, i really encourage you to go. especially for those who like mixed media, collages, stencil art. support our local artists.

i remember taking this early this year when i went to central market with my dad. thought you guys should see it.

the absence on my slr has refrained me from so many things.
these are taken with my digital camera. they're not the best photos, but i dont know, i like em.

but in a way i realized that since i got the d80, the concept of my photography has weakened. i've been blinded by the quality and not the story that lies behind my photos. back when i only had my digital camera i concentrated more on my experience and the story that i want to portray.

there is still plenty to learn. im in love with photography. it's no longer just a hobby. it's my life.
